Li Shujun highlighted that HiNa Battery's sodium-ion battery products are built around a core material system featuring copper-based layered oxide cathode and coal-based amorphous carbon anode. Leveraging the unique characteristics of this material system and addressing mainstream market demands, the company is launching its first batch of three cell models. These products offer advantages such as long cycle life, wide operating temperature range, and high power capability, and are ready for mass production. HiNa Battery is actively advancing collaborations with several industry leaders. The newly launched sodium-ion battery products are poised for broad application across various fields including two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, residential and commercial energy storage, as well as large-scale energy storage systems.

HiNa Battery is China's first high-tech enterprise dedicated to the research, development, and production of sodium-ion batteries. The company boasts a strong R&D team led by technical pioneers including Academician Chen Liquan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Researcher Hu Yongsheng from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In 2011, Prof. Hu Yongsheng pioneered foundational research on sodium-ion batteries, focusing on the resource-abundant element sodium and driven by market demands. He made groundbreaking international contributions by proposing low-cost, high-capacity copper-based oxide cathode materials, amorphous coal-based carbon anode materials, and high-safety electrolytes. Related patents have been authorized in China, the United States, Japan, and the European Union, ensuring complete control over core materials. After over a decade of dedicated effort and research, HiNa Battery has developed sodium-ion batteries distinguished by three major advantages: long cycle life, wide operating temperature range, and high power.

HiNa Battery was founded in 2017. The company has established a comprehensive layout spanning key core materials, cell manufacturing, and system applications. It has successfully deployed several pioneering demonstration projects worldwide, including short-range electric vehicles, residential energy storage cabinets, a 100 kWh sodium-ion battery energy storage power station, and a 1 MWh sodium-ion battery energy storage power station. In 2022, HiNa Battery commissioned its thousand-ton-scale cathode/anode material production lines and GWh-scale cell production lines in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province and Fuyang, Anhui Province, respectively, marking the inaugural year of sodium-ion battery industrialization.

HiNa Battery remains steadfast in its commitment to prioritizing customer service, developing and manufacturing high-performance, cost-effective sodium-ion batteries. Guided by the principle of "Innovation Leadership, Collaborative Win-Win," the company aims to jointly pioneer a new era for sodium-ion batteries, contribute to the development of an Electrified China, and support the realization of a zero-carbon society.
