December 27, 2023 — The sodium-ion battery-powered version of the JAC Yiwei Hua Xianzi electric vehicle, jointly developed by HiNa Battery and JAC Yiwei, officially rolled off the production line today. The vehicle is equipped with sodium-ion cylindrical cells stably supplied by HiNa Battery, which offer exceptional low-temperature performance and superior rate capability. JAC Yiwei is expected to begin mass deliveries of the new model starting January next year.

The trial version of this vehicle first garnered attention in February 2023 during its debut at the Second National Sodium Battery Seminar. At the time, company representatives stated in media interviews that the model was expected to launch by the end of this year. After months of preparation, the sodium-ion battery version was listed in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s vehicle manufacturing enterprise and product announcement catalog in October and officially entered production in December.

HiNa Battery has long been committed to advancing the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries. The official launch of this mass-produced sodium-ion battery vehicle marks not only the first industrialization of sodium-ion batteries in the global automotive industry but also represents a significant milestone in HiNa Battery's years of efforts to promote the commercial adoption of sodium-ion battery technology. Looking ahead, HiNa Battery will continue to enhance the performance of its mass-produced products and advance R&D for next-generation technologies. In collaboration with upstream and downstream partners across the industry, the company remains dedicated to driving the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries and pioneering a new era in energy storage.
